Statutes

 

Article 1

The CSGHF associates all genealogists and heraldists committed to reviving the history of families and heritage or establishing the legal devolutions of an estate. Its members, whatever their nationality may practise in France/or abroad.

 

Article 2

The aim of the CSGHF is to represent the interests of its members, whether they be moral, economic, professional or social, individual or collective, within the bounds of the activities defined in Article 1.

 

Article 3

The area of its competence is unlimited.

 

Article 4

Its head office is situated in Paris, 231, rue Saint-Honoré 75001 Paris

 

Article 5

Members meet once a year at the CSGHF’s General Meeting to examine activity during the past year and determine its direction for the following year.

It elects a Board of Directors consisting of nine members, which will meet at least once a year, at the latest six months after the General Meeting. Once elected, the Board members elect, at the General Meeting, an executive committee of five members.

The members of the Board of Directors are elected for three years, renewable by a third.

 

Article 6 (a)

The Executive Committee of the CSGHF comprises at least a chairman, a vice-chairman, a treasurer, a secretary and a person in charge of internet communications. Only those who have been members of the CSGHF for at least two years may be elected to the Board of Directors or the Executive Committee.

 

Article 6 (b)

In case of vacancy, either by departure, resignation, incapability or death of one of the members of the Board before the term of his mandate, the Board may use its powers to appoint by cooption a new member for the duration of the current mandate. The number of coopted members in one year must be less than the majority of elected members to the Board.

 

Article 7

The Executive Committee or the Board of Directors meets once every quarter.

 

Article 8

The Executive Committee is responsible for the management of the CSGHF and supervises the application of decisions taken by the Board of Directors and those taken at the General Meeting. The Executive Committee advises on all the problems concerning activities of the association.

 

Article 9

The chairman represents the association in all acts of civil juridiction, in particular all court proceedings. The vice-chairman may stand in for the chairman if he is unable to attend.

 

Article 10

The finances of the association come from subscriptions and the sale of products connected with genealogy. The annual subscription fee is determined during the annual general meeting.

The association may if necessary appeal to exceptional resources. It is authorised to receive gifts, legacies or grants.

 

Article 11

The statutes of the association may be amended at the General Meeting, by a majority of two thirds of the members present or represented. In the same way, the dissolution or the transformation of the association may only be ratified at the General Meeting, by a majority of two thirds of the members present or represented.

 

Article 12

The internal rules of the CSGHF imply adherence to its code of ethics, its admission and exclusion procedures as well as various practical issues.

 

Article 13

The CSGHF may join a professional association, with the consent of two thirds of its members. This consent may, if necessary, be obtained by post.

 

Article 14

The CSGHF is covered for its professional civil and financial liability by the insurance company Les Mutuelles du Mans, represented by the brokers LSN Assurance La Société Nouvelle, 81, rue Taitbout – 75009 Paris.
